Lolo wins the DFC Kite Landboard Freestyle Contest in Dunkerque
04.Apr.2012:Saturday 31 March the DFC Kite Landboard Contest #3 in Dunkerque (North of France) took place.
FS teamrider Lolo put together this short report for you:The wind was pretty good for the event, about 20 to 25 knots on-shore, it was just perfect to ride with my FS Speed3 15m Deluxe.

At 10 AM the race division started, I decided to do the race with my 19m Speed3. During the race the wind gained in strength, better if I would have taken my 15m Speed3, but it was too late to change my kite…
it was a hard struggle to reach the first flag, but it was a really fast & furious down-wind going back! I finished the race division in 5th position.
Now that race division finished, it’s time for me to ride hard and prepare myself for the Freestyle contest. The wind was very good, around 22 knots, so I decided to ride my heats with my Speed3 15m, that’s the way to go high and loop easily!
There were 18 riders in the competition, all riders put on a real show with nice big airs, grabs, spins, and big hangtime.
During my heats I was able to land all my new and old tricks, to a 100% , then I felt so good and motivated myself even more, I did my best boards off and grabs to go for the top podium spot.
It was a very good idea to choose the 15m, because this kite gave me the 1st place in the Freestyle!
This event was the 1st land kiting competition of the year for me, it was good training for the KLB German tour and the BKSA UK tour 2012.
I will continue to train hard on my spot, to learn new old-school and new-school tricks.
Everyday is a Kite Day.
Lolo BSD.”
