13.Aug.2012:Flysurfer Racers on a High!

From 10.-12. August on the sunny island of Fehmarn, the last tour stop of the German championship series, the Kitesurf-Trophy was carried out. Benni Bölli, Emmanuel Norman, Edward Wieandt, Niklas Christansen and Christine Bönniger represented the Flysurfer Team.
The weekend started off with a windy Friday. Directly after the skippers meeting it started with the freestyle discipline. Christine was seeded in the quarter finals of the singles against Meike Erichsen due to her good performance in the previous tour stop in Holnis. in the competition. The wind was offshore and therefore very gusty. The Heat had to be stopped due to lack of wind and repeated. In the second, as with the first heat, Christine showed constancy and landed all her unhooked tricks with power and some big jumps and won the Heat. After a few more men’s heats, the wind is dying and the single elimination could not be completed. The race director decided to move on to course racing. The wind changed to gusty offshore and three races were held. Benni Bölli had set himself the goal to compete at the front and he did! All three races he finished in second place. Emmanuel Norman showed how well the Flyrace is, especially in gusty conditions and occupied the ranks 6, 3 and 4
The Saturday turned out to be a sunny but wind-free day out. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful summer weather! Christine crowned the day in in that she not only won all races in the women’s clearly, but rounded the windward buoy third on the complete fleet. On Sunday the racers were once again allowed show why kiting is in the 2016 olympics. In the race the wind was borderline at 6knots, but Christine wind swept around the course in just 6 minutes! She won every race as expected. Emmanuel did great with the 21er Speed 3 and he worked his way up to third place in the general standings of the tour stops. Junior Niklas Christiansen was also on the Flyrace and followed Emmanuels example. He finished 3rd in the junior Place!
Benni was aggressive and won the final race with a cry of joy! A great battle between Florian Gruber and Benni! Benni Fehmarn finished 2nd Place in the overall standings and was rewarded for his consistent riding with the German Vice Champion Title in the Race!Christine continued her winning streak from the previous tour stops and defended her German Championship title in Course Racing!
Apart from course racing, she surprised herself with the German Vice-Champion Title in freestyle! Since the places of the four remaining girls in the competition could not sorted out, they occupied the first Place together.
