The first round of the Czech Race Cup was organized by the Czech kiting snowkiting Federation on 19th and 20th of 2013, it was a successful event with good conditions.

On Saturday morning at 11:00 the freestyle jam started with 11 kiters. In the morning the winds blew around 16-20knots so it was definitely something to look at. Freestyle jam means that all competitors on the competition area can show what they can during a 20 minutes time period, giving a great show for the audience. During the jam very nice tricks were shown, but also some very hard crashes. Snowkite trick repertoire was on a high level with: KGB, lowmobe, flat3, flat5 with grab, kite loop handle-pass.

After the freestyle jam and a short break, the first possible start of the race cup took place. First up were the snowboarders and then skiers. Unfortunately just after racing was started, the wind dropped to a bare minimum about 2-3knots. The organizers could only do 1 race with snowboards and with ski competitors. After a short delay the wind slowly picked up and all riders agreed that snowboard and ski classes would start together. Flysurfer International teamrider Lukas Vogeltanz was on full speed, showing his back to all racers in each race:-) After 4 rounds of racing, the organizers continued with the 2nd round of the freestyle jam. In this 2nd round all competitors were divided into 2 groups, it was clear to see that Murphy and Lukas were the ones who were going to battle it out for 1st position. After an awesome show from both riders, the final results of the freestyle jam after 2 rounds were: 1.Murphy, 2 Lukash, 3. Míra.

The day ends with a decent party in the clubhouse at Rýžoviště until early morning hours On Sunday the wind let all riders down. After few hours of waiting, the event day was stopped and the official announcement of the results were at 13:00 in the clubhouse. Murphy with better tricks in the first jam beats Lukash, but Lukash becomes the most successful rider in this Czech Cup – he stands 2x times on the podium. The organization did a great job, creating a superb quality event with a very high level of freestyle snowkiting!
